I think one should always have a bowl of lemons on the counter. They look and smell wonderful, and are always handy to brighten up a dish with some lemon juice or add lemon zest to anything you’re baking.
My bowl is from Praiano on the Amalfi Coast, a place known for its exquisite lemons. But everywhere in Italy, you’ll find that lemons are a common motif in pottery. That’s because Italians have a long history of loving lemons.
